Operations Manager
Professional Background: Taryn worked professionally in and around Vancouver in events for nearly a decade after obtaining a diploma in Event Management in her early twenties. Besides being involved in countless weddings, galas, fundraisers, and managing multiple corporate catering companies, Taryn also worked as a Real Estate Assistant during her time on the Lower Mainland. These project management, adminstrative, and business skills easily transferred over and proved valuable when starting in construction as an Office Manager in 2018 here on the Sunshine Coast.
Why The SC? Taryn was born and raised in Sechelt, and decided to move home to be closer to family in 2018 and never looked back. She met and joined forced with Michal shortly after, officially becoming a business partner in 2021 when Habetin Homes was incorporated and both the team and the projects were quickly growing.
Passions outside of Work: "My dogs, staying active, the ocean, lakes, trips to the city, good food and amazing cocktails, hiking... you get the picture!.. and work. We're always working, there isn't really an "outside of work" for us - we travel for conferences and trade shows, dine out with our clients, play pickleball with our clients, build our own projects.... I love what I do"

Construction Manager, Founder
Early Years: Michal grew up in Warsaw (Warszawa) Poland, coming to Gibsons at the age of 9. He always excelled in math and sciences. As a young adult, he started off in construction 20 years ago as a Labourer here on the Coast, working on large developments and custom homes.
Professional Background: His career in construction led him to Whistler, Richmond, Vancouver, and Saskatoon before returning to Gibsons in 2017 to begin his own company. During his 10+ years off the Coast, he challenged his apprenticeship, successfully obtaining his Red Seal certification in 2016. Working on jobs of all sizes, from single family dwellings to residential towers in large developments, Michal gained experience in all areas of construction. He loves architectural concrete, interior finishing… and any excuse to purchase a new Millwaukee packout.
As the Construction Manager at Habetin Homes, Michal is involved with all projects, while both leading and developing the growing Habetin Homes team.
Passions Outside of Work: Golf, buying new golfing gear, hockey, enjoying the outdoors with friends and family, BBQing, Pushing Taryn's buttons, cycling, Pickleball of late (stay tuned for Pickleball tournament dates and announcements), exploring BC, architecture and design, and Cult classic movie nights (not in any particular order).
